Speech therapy
Speech – Language pathologists work to prevent,asses, diagnose and treat speech, language, Social communication, coognitive-communication and swallowing disorder in children and adults.
Methods using
- Early Traing to the patents, especilly to the mother how to teach the child
- Oral method – which communicates through speech and lip reading
- Analytic method – Taught them a single letter sound
- Synthetic method – taught them directly a single word
Tips for teaching
- While speaking face the child so he can see you, your facial expression & body Movements
- Proper light arrangement to read your lips
- Do not talk fast at the same time make sure not to exaggerate the lip movement
- Allow the child to touch when you speak to know the soure point of the sound and to feel the Vibration.
- Encourage the child to speak as much as possible
Teaching Aids
- Mirror, flash cards,photo, video, some exercises
- like – breathing exercise, sucking& chewing exercise
- whistling & Blowing training etc…
